
Niles is apart of Berrien and Cass Counties and part of the two principal cities, Niles-Benton Harbor in Michigan. The population is currently over 12,000 residents. Niles lies right on the banks of the St. Joseph River just minutes from South Bend, Indiana. Much of the Niles economy is and was based on the railway system. Currently, Amtrack has a station in Niles and serves the area and stretches as far as South Bend, Indiana.
Most of Niles is residential, but it has several parks like the Signal Point Club and small lakes that run through some neighborhoods.
